BayBG expands its management board to three members

Munich, April 2, 2026. BayBG, one of Germany’s leading investment companies, has appointed Stefan Koller (*1972) as new Managing Director effective April 1, 2026. He succeeds Peter Herreiner, who is retiring. Koller will play a key role in shaping BayBG’s investment activities and its ongoing strategic development.

In addition, the management board was expanded at the beginning of the year to include long-standing CFO Andreas Käufl (*1968). Together with CEO and Spokesman of the Management Board Peter Pauli, BayBG’s leadership team will now consist of three members.

Stefan Koller brings many years of experience in financing and investment. Throughout his career, he has supported numerous companies in various roles on complex financing matters. Most recently, he served as Global Head of Asset Based Financing at HypoVereinsbank / UniCredit Group, where he led a team of around 100 financing specialists. Prior to that, he headed Corporate Structured Finance Germany and was responsible for developing and implementing tailored financing solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The trained banking specialist began his career in financing and advising medium-sized companies.

“We are delighted to welcome Stefan Koller as an experienced manager and expert in the SME sector. He brings extensive expertise in structured financing for medium-sized companies, deep regional market knowledge, and a clear strategic vision. With him on board, BayBG is ideally positioned for the future,” says Peter Pauli, CEO and Spokesman of the Management Board of BayBG.

Stefan Koller will be responsible for the business areas of succession financing, small and young companies, and the Bavaria South region, while also contributing to BayBG’s strategic development.

At the beginning of the year, Andreas Käufl also joined BayBG’s management board. As long-standing CFO, he is responsible for financial management, investment and risk controlling, as well as the implementation of strategic IT projects. In recent years, he has played a key role in driving BayBG’s digital transformation and the modernization of its IT systems.

“Andreas Käufl knows our organization, our investment business, and our portfolio inside out. With his deep expertise, many years of leadership experience, and strong financial acumen, he has significantly shaped and further developed our Finance & IT division,” says Peter Pauli. “We are very pleased to have gained such an experienced leader from within our own ranks for the expansion of our management board.”

Andreas Käufl has been with BayBG since 2010. He began his professional career in 1995 at BTG Bayerische Treuhandgesellschaft Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft. In 2002, he joined KPMG, where he played a key role in building up Risk Advisory Services and led consulting projects in an international environment. The business graduate successfully passed both the German tax advisor and certified public accountant exams and publishes on the topic of family business governance.
