Internal succession within the Small and Emerging Companies division

Munich, October 1, 2026. Jonas Gebendorfer takes over as Head of Small and Emerging Companies at BayBG effective October 1, 2026. In his new role, he will be responsible for equity financing solutions for small and emerging companies as well as start-ups in Bavaria.

Gebendorfer has been with BayBG as an Investment Manager since January 2022 and has extensive experience in financing small and emerging companies. His previous responsibilities have included the acquisition, assessment and structuring of silent partnerships as well as developing and maintaining a network of banks, tax advisors and other key intermediaries.

Gebendorfer holds a Master’s degree in Management and Technology from the Technical University of Munich, with a focus on finance, computer science and entrepreneurship. He is also a Certified Private Equity Analyst (CPEA).

By handing over the leadership of the division to Jonas Gebendorfer, the current Head of Small and Emerging Companies, Dr. Barbara Karch, is setting the course for her succession well in advance. Until June 30, 2027, she will ensure a smooth transition and continue to support the KJU team as an experienced point of contact on all relevant matters.

“With Jonas Gebendorfer, a colleague who knows our target group, its financing needs and the market environment extremely well is taking over the leadership of the division. He brings the expertise and experience required to successfully develop the division further. At the same time, we would like to sincerely thank Dr. Barbara Karch for her dedication and many years of commitment,” says Stefan Koller, Managing Director of BayBG.
