New Head of Business Division at BayBG

Structured finance expert responsible for the Northern Bavaria region.

Munich, May 2, 2025. Tobias Friese, CFA (51), most recently Head of Corporate Structured Finance at UniCredit Bank AG in Bavaria, assumed leadership of the Northern Bavaria division of BayBG on May 1, 2025. In his new role, Friese is responsible for further expanding BayBG’s market presence as an equity partner for transformation, growth and innovation financing for SMEs.

Tobias Friese brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the financial industry. His expertise covers all areas of structured finance and equity investments in the SME segment. Since 2007, Friese has also served as a guest lecturer at Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg) in Heidenheim. Prior to his role at UniCredit Bank AG, he worked as Vice President in Corporate Structured Finance at Deutsche Bank AG, where he was responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of syndicated and bilateral financings for southern German SMEs.

Tobias Friese succeeds Alois Bösl, who is stepping down from the position at his own request to take on new responsibilities within BayBG.
