IDnow solutions

The patented IDnow solutions for secure digital identification help customers save costs, increase conversion rates and make the onboarding process more scalable.

Customer verification made simple, fast and secure

Fast and straightforward processes are an important prerequisite for online business transactions. However, in particularly sensitive areas, such as loan, account opening or insurance contracts, this was not possible from home PCs for a long time. Customers had to visit providers in person with their ID to verify their identity.

Secure identities online

Until – yes, until – 2014, when the FinTech start-up IDnow came along: since then, everything has changed. Now, contracts can also be legally concluded online in regulated areas. IDnow was one of the first providers to digitise and simplify the entire account opening application process. The advantages for both sides are obvious. Customers can conclude a contract online in a matter of minutes without any paperwork, regardless of branch opening hours. New customers no longer interrupt the process between filling out an online application and receiving their signed contract, but instead complete the entire process in a matter of minutes. The conversion rate increases. Not to mention: all data and information is immediately available to the provider in its systems. Manual post-processing is no longer necessary.

The IDnow platform offers the right solution for every regulatory requirement: in addition to video identification (VideoIdent), there is the AI-based AutoIdent solution, which guides the user through an automated process. The artificial intelligence also checks special security features, such as holograms, and performs a biometric comparison between the user and the ID document. In addition, IDnow's new eID service offers a fast and user-friendly way to identify individuals using the online functions of their ID card.

Investors' favourite

After BayBG joined the FinTech in 2015, IDnow entered into a strategic partnership with the globally operating Giesecke + Devrient Group in 2018 to jointly develop AI-supported biometric and security technologies.

At the same time, Giesecke + Devrient Ventures acquired a minority stake in IDnow. In a further round of financing in 2019, IDnow also received $40 million from private equity firm Corsair Capital to drive forward its international growth strategy.
