MAWA – Made in Germany stands for an original brand that can look back on a long tradition dating back to 1948. The brand is characterised by a pioneering and inventive spirit that has continued to evolve over the years, yet remains true to its roots and is manufactured with passion in Pfaffenhofen, Bavaria, looking back on a long history. In addition to tradition, Made in Germany also stands for outstanding quality, which has already achieved recognition in over 80 countries worldwide.
Top 100 Innovator 2021
For MAWA, 2021 began with something very special: recognition as one of the TOP 100 innovators in Germany. TOP 100 is the only German innovation competition that honours medium-sized companies for their innovation management and innovation success. TOP 100 does not award prizes to individual products, but instead closely examines all stages of the innovation process on the basis of a scientifically sound analysis of around 120 criteria in five categories: innovation success, innovation climate, innovative processes and organisation, external orientation and open innovation, and innovation-promoting top management.

Sustainable eco clothes hanger
In spring 2021, Michaela Schenk will present the MAWA Eco hanger, a MAWA revolution. MAWA has been committed to sustainability since 2008 with its FSC-certified wooden hangers and SKINfriendly and ECOfriendly metal hangers. No plastic hangers have ever been produced. With MAWA Eco materials, MAWA has created an excellent alternative to plastic in the field of hangers. MAWA CellPlast and MAWA TexPlast use only renewable raw materials or recycled clothing with biopolymer additives and no natural materials, thus creating a closed CO2 cycle.
Many years ago, MAWA committed itself to the United Nations' Agenda 2030, whose 17 goals pursue sustainable development and positive objectives at an economic, social and ecological level.
The MAWA Eco hangers and many other projects make the company from Pfaffenhofen at the Ilm a pioneer in many respects.
Regardless of this global positioning, Kapp has close ties to his Upper Franconian homeland. The Dr. Kapp Role Model Award honours special voluntary work. Since 2001, the Dr.-Ing. E. h. Bernhard Kapp Award has recognised special research achievements by school pupils from the region.
